LGBTQIA+ educational leaders bring a wealth of experience and insight that enriches the lives of their teams, their students, and their campus communities. To do so, they must lead with both pride in their identities and confidence in their abilities to overcome a broad range of challenges, from enrollment goals to fiscal constraints and the discrimination or marginalization they may feel in today’s charged political environment.
LGBTQIA+Leadership in Higher Education (LHE) is designed to help higher education leaders sharpen their leadership abilities and develop peer networks to better serve their institutions and students. In four days on campus at HGSE, you’ll engage with peers and faculty, share common challenges, and learn to respond strategically to your most pressing issues.
This on-campus program is a unique opportunity for individuals with five or more years of experience in postsecondary education. It features interactive workshops and peer learning sessions that address key leadership skills such as effective communication and negotiation, organizational change and analysis, and advancing student success. The program also provides opportunities for participants to reflect upon how queerness informs their professional lives and to explore how to bring our full selves to our work.
This LGBTQIA+ leadership program is open to faculty, staff, and administrators from all disciplines and institutions. It aims to create an inclusive environment where participants can learn, flourish, and advance their careers. Faculty teaching in this program are experts in their field and part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
If possible, you should plan to attend the live webinar orientation session on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 6 p.m. ET, in preparation for your arrival on campus. The team will provide information from technical and tactical to curricular and academic, all in service to your ease of entry into the program. If you are unable to participate in the live event, we encourage you to watch the orientation recording.
