In accordance with Harvard University policy, Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education affirms the right of all individuals to equal treatment in education without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Today's early education leaders face immense demands as they support children, families, and communities through increasingly challenging times. But no one can pour from an empty cup. To effectively support others, educators must first understand the science of stress and what drives it, and begin to respond in ways that promote well-being.
Mitigating Workplace Stress and Promoting Well-Being is professional development that puts you first, so you can show up fully for others. In this brief, focused online program, you’ll learn practical strategies to manage your own stress, strengthen your leadership, build a healthier, more resilient workforce, and provide better support to the educators and families in your care.
In this approximately two-hour, self-directed course, you’ll explore the impact of your well-being on program quality and staff retention. You’ll learn the science of adult stress—what happens in the body and brain and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of stress in yourself. You’ll also gain practical, evidence-based strategies to manage and reduce stress, and build a plan to sustain increased well-being over time.
Mitigating Workplace Stress and Promoting Well-Being is designed for convenience and flexibility. Most learners complete the course in one to two hours, and you can move through the segments at your own pace.
This program will take place in Canvas, Professional Education's learning management system.
