Gutman Library

Library Hours & Access

Harvard University is shifting all University activities, including J-term courses, to remote status through at least January 23, 2022. Gutman Library will still be offering some services online. For research help and other questions please visit asklib.gse.harvard.edu. Also, you can use your HarvardKey to access many Gutman Library and Harvard Library materials online in HOLLIS (Gutman materials can be requested there for pickup at other Harvard libraries).

Accessing Gutman Library’s Space and Physical Materials 

Until further notice, access to the Harvard Graduate School of Education Gutman Library will be limited to current HUID holders (enrolled students, employed staff, or active faculty). A current Harvard University ID is required for entrance to the Library building. Please read about our services for persons with disabilities and review the HGSE Coronavirus page for additional details about campus access. 

Alumni, Special Borrowers, and other Gutman Library visitors can find up-to-date information about library access and borrowing procedures on our Alumni & Visitor Services page. 

Accessing other Harvard Libraries’ Space and Physical Materials

All of Harvard's libraries are open for in-person use by current HUID holders. Check each library’s site for updated information on hours.  

Some of Harvard’s libraries are also open for in-person use by Special Borrowers, including alumni and Visiting Researchers. Check the Harvard Library Visitor access site for the latest information on which libraries are open for in-person visitor access.
