Harvard Ed Press Titles Win Design Awards

Graphic Designer Sarah Henderson won awards from Bookbuilders of Boston for two Harvard Education Press covers in the "Professional" category.

The first winner was for The Blind Advantage: How Going Blind Made Me a Stronger Principal and How Including Children with Disabilities Made Our School Better for Everyone.  The judges noted the "beautiful use of primary type 'Blind' and image.  The secondary type strengthens the concept of losing sight. The spot glass adds greatly to the blur effect."

The second winner was for Schooling in the Workplace: How Six of the World’s Best Vocational Education Systems Prepare Young People for Jobs and Life.  The judges noted the "nice geometrical divides and color choice. Interesting serif type to counter squares on front."

Bookbuilders of Boston is a nonprofit organization founded in 1937 that is dedicated to bringing together people involved in book publishing and manufacturing.

Sarah Henderson was honored on May 2, 2012, at the 55th Annual New England Book Show at Symphony Hall in Boston.
