Measuring Effective Teaching with Professor Tom Kane

This forum shared new findings from the Measures of Effective Teaching (MET) project, a huge research study that has captured teaching practice of over 3000 teachers in seven urban school districts. With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the goal of MET is to help educators and policymakers identify and support good teaching by improving the quality of information available about teacher practice. The forum will also share initial work of a parallel study at the National Center for Teacher Effectiveness (NCTE), which is housed at HGSE and supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Education. NCTE's core study focuses on developing measures of effective math teaching.
