News Waronker School in NY Times Focus Posted January 13, 2011 By News editor On January 10, The New York Times took a close look at New Amsterdam Academy, a new school in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, founded by HGSE doctoral student Shimon Waronker. The Times calls the school "an audacious public education experiment" which "its founder hopes will revolutionize both how students learn and how teachers are trained."Waronker, a student in the Ed School's Urban Superintendents Program, had previously been featured in the Winter 2009 issue of Ed. magazine.
