Andrew Ho Receives NCME Award

Assistant Professor Andrew Ho recently received the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) 2010 Jason Millman Promising Measurement Scholar Award. The award established in 1995 recognizes an early career scholar whose research makes a major contribution to the field in honor of Dr. Jason Millman.

"I am deeply humbled to be nominated by my mentors and selected by the committee," Ho said. "The award is named for Dr. Jason Millman, whose areas of contribution were often at the intersection of psychometric theory and popular practice. As someone whose interests are similar, I can only hope that my future work has as positive an impact on educational practice as his."

The NCME is a professional organization for individuals involved in assessment, evaluation, testing, and other aspects of educational measurement. Members are involved in the construction and use of standardized tests; new forms of assessment, including performance-based assessment; program design; and program evaluation.
