The Power of Convening

On December 12, 2014, the Ed School's The Leading Edge of Early Childhood Education brought together leading scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage with the latest thinking, research, and practice in building and sustaining high-quality pre-K systems, schools, and classrooms. Among the speakers at the event was Jacqueline Jones, president of the Foundation for Child Development and former senior adviser on early learning to U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. In welcoming participants to the convening, Jones expressed her hope that events such as this -- which she deemed critical to the field of early childhood education -- become a regular occurance.

In this edition of the Harvard EdCast, Jones reflects on the dialogue and unique collaborations among researchers and practitioners in the field of early childhood education.
