EdCast The Children We Mean To Raise Posted June 25, 2014 By Matt Weber The Making Caring Common Project has released a new report -- "The Children We Mean to Raise" -- examining the messages adults are sending about values, and how children are interpreting them. Highlighted on Good Morning, America and Today, and in the Atlantic, the findings show that a high percentage of children are more concerned with achievement than with being a good person. In this edition of the EdCast, Senior Lecturer Richard Weissbourd discusses these findings and talks about the messages adults are sending children without even knowing it.From November 12 - 14, 2014, the Harvard Graduate School of Education will be offering a professional development opportunity, Making Caring Common: Promoting Caring and Respect in Students, and Preventing Bullying and Behavior Problems.
