With thoughtful planning, you can support the Ed School during your lifetime or through your estate, while meeting your own financial and charitable goals, like lowering your tax burden or providing income for you and your loved ones.
Please email Harvard Gift Planning or call (800) 446-1277 to start the conversation.
In as little as one sentence, you can include HGSE in your will or living trust. It’s simple, flexible, and you can revise the gift during your lifetime if your circumstances or priorities change.
Naming HGSE as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, financial account, or retirement plan, such as an IRA or 401(k), is a tax-efficient way to support the Ed School. Often, it can be as easy as completing a form with your plan administrator.
Through a charitable gift annuity, trust, or pooled income fund, you can support HGSE while receiving income for life or a set term for yourself and/or another beneficiary. At the death of the last income beneficiary (or at the end of the term), the remaining principal supports HGSE in the way you choose.
A charitable lead trust provides the Ed School with an annual stream of support for a set number of years. At the end of that period, the remaining assets can pass to your children or other heirs, often with significant tax advantages.
A Harvard Donor Advised Fund allows you to support HGSE and other causes you care about while receiving an immediate tax deduction.
Convert assets like real estate, private company stock, business interests, or art into a meaningful gift to the Ed School.
