Zid Mancenido is a classroom teacher and teacher educator with experience working in Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines. His research aims to improve how school systems recruit and train teachers. Currently, he is working on two projects: (1) identifying effective policies to get more high-achieving college graduates into teaching; and (2) developing better ways to rigorously evaluate teacher education program practices. Mancenido has worked in various organizations across the education sector including the Australian Department of Education, Teach for the Philippines, the Singaporean National Institute of Education, and Teach for Australia. He began his career as a high school social sciences teacher in Canberra, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honors) degree from the Australian National University and a Master of Teaching (Secondary) from the University of Melbourne.
