Khalya Hopkins has been in education for 15 years. She is currently an education administrator in the NYC Department of Education-Division of Special Education. In addition to coaching teachers and administrators, she has taught graduate courses at Hunter College and Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is currently a doctoral candidate in an educational leadership program at Russell Sage College. She centers racial equity in her work and enjoys facilitating professional development for adult learners. She is also a blogger, mother, and nail design enthusiast who lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
