Christina Smiraglia is a senior research manager with Project Zero Connect, leading a strand of the project that investigates the educational elements of community festivals. She previously worked with Agency by Design (AbD), a project that examines the maker movement and design thinking, and she managed Art Works at Work, a project exploring the impact of art in the workplace. Her research interests include informal learning and object-based learning across the lifespan. Before moving into educational research, Smiraglia worked as an educator in more than a dozen museums, including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, J. Paul Getty Museum, National Air and Space Museum, and the National Zoo. Smiraglia received her B.A. in studio art and art conservation from the University of Delaware, her Ed.M. in teaching and learning from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), and her Ed.D. in education policy, leadership, and instructional practice, also from HGSE.
