Vanja Pejic is an attending psychologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Pejic's research, practice, and teaching have focused on examining and reducing health inequities for marginalized children, youth, and families, with a special focus on immigrant and refugee populations. Much of her research and clinical experience have examined the development, implementation, and evaluation of culturally attuned prevention and intervention programs in school mental health. Pejic splits her time between two programs, trauma and community resilience center, where she serves as a consultant and researcher, and Boston International Newcomers Academy, a high school for newly arrived immigrant and refugee youth, where she provides direct clinical care, consultation, and training. Pejic also serves as a part-time faculty at Boston College, where she teaches trauma theory, assessment, and treatment.
