Melanie Rucinski is a lecturer on education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she teaches statistics and quantitative research methods. Her research focuses on teacher labor markets and inequality in education. In ongoing work, she studies students’ education and career pathways to inform policies to increase the supply and racial diversity of the teacher workforce, frequently partnering with the state of Massachusetts. Her prior work on barriers to racial diversity in Boston exam school admissions was featured on WGBH and in The Boston Globe. Rucinski holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in social studies from Harvard College.
