Christina Claiborne is a lecturer on education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she teaches the Foundations course, Evidence 101, in both the in-person and online master's programs.
Claiborne serves as the research project director for the EdResearch for Action project at the Annenberg Institute at Brown University. In her current work, she leads a board of practitioners and a team of researchers to create research synthesis briefs that distill key findings across various educational topics, specifically tailored for school and district leaders. These briefs are designed to provide clear, actionable insights that help inform decision-making processes, ensuring that leaders are equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the research to guide their strategies and interventions.
Prior to joining Annenberg, Claiborne was the assistant director of academics in the Education Department at Brown University where she taught classes on quantitative skills and an internship course for students in the Masters in Urban Education Policy program. Having started her career teaching high school math in Rhode Island, Claiborne has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within urban education. Her experience in the classroom fuels her commitment to ensuring that evidence-based practices are accessible and actionable for educators at all levels. In addition to her roles at HGSE and the Annenberg Institute, Claiborne frequently consults on projects related to educational policy, program evaluation, and data-driven decision-making. Claiborne holds a master’s in urban education policy from Brown University and a bachelor’s in economics and minor in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley.
