News Garson Appointed to U.S. Department of Education Committee Posted May 14, 2010 By News editor Lecturer Deborah Garson, head of Research and Instruction Services at Gutman Library, was recently appointed to the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences' new Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) Library Committee. ERIC is an online digital library of education research and information providing access to education literature to support the use of educational research and information to improve practice in learning, teaching, educational decisionmaking, and research."I am honored and excited to be part of this initiative and look forward to being a full participant in the committee's work," Garson said, expressing her enthusiasm for the appointment.Under the National Library Initiative mandate, the 10-member ERIC Library Committee will review and advise the Department of Education regarding ERIC content, technology, services, and outreach.
