News HGSE J-Term Preview Posted December 23, 2013 By Iman Rastegari January Term at HGSE takes place during the weeks in January between the end of Winter Recess and the start of Spring Term. “J-Term,” as it is known at HGSE, is a time when all students can take advantage of a variety of for-credit courses, Special Topics Seminars (non-credit mini-courses), and other learning and personal development workshops, events, lecture series, and activities. J-Term is a time when HGSE students can have a different kind of learning experience — diving deep into the content of a single intensive course or module.J-Term can also provide an opportunity to build skills in a variety of areas — focusing on a job search, developing media and technology skills, enhancing research skills, and more. Special Topics Seminars provide engaging opportunities for hands-on and "minds-on" learning in experiential formats. And the January Term Lecture Series, offered for all HGSE students by Howard Gardner, provides a chance for students across programs to learn together.
