HGSE J-Term Preview

January Term at HGSE takes place during the weeks in January between the end of Winter Recess and the start of Spring Term. “J-Term,” as it is known at HGSE, is a time when all students can take advantage of a variety of for-credit courses, Special Topics Seminars (non-credit mini-courses), and other learning and personal development workshops, events, lecture series, and activities. J-Term is a time when HGSE students can have a different kind of learning experience — diving deep into the content of a single intensive course or module.

J-Term can also provide an opportunity to build skills in a variety of areas — focusing on a job search, developing media and technology skills, enhancing research skills, and more. Special Topics Seminars provide engaging opportunities for hands-on and "minds-on" learning in experiential formats. And the January Term Lecture Series, offered for all HGSE students by Howard Gardner, provides a chance for students across programs to learn together.
