EdCast Who's the Boss of Education? Posted October 24, 2012 By Matt Weber For actor Tony Danza, teaching was, as he puts it, "the road not taken" in his career. Growing up, his parents had put great emphasis on the importance of education and, for a time, he thought that he might become a teacher. Many years and a long, successful career in entertainment later, the idea of teaching still appealed to him. So, in 2009, he entered Philadelphia's Northeast High School as an English teacher. Initially followed by cameras documenting his experiences for an A&E television show, Danza stayed in the classroom long after the cameras stopped filming, finishing out the school year, and leaving with an even greater appreciation for teachers and students alike. In this edition of the EdCast, Danza speaks about his year as a rookie teacher at Northeast High and about his new book, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had.
