WiT is for students, faculty, and
alumni of HUGSE. As an organization, WiT brings together
individuals of diverse backgrounds, interests, experiences,
knowledge, and understanding of technology and being
female.
Our mission is to build a community of women who are
interested and involved in technology.
Our Goals
- To give women in technology at
HUGSE a platform from which to actively demonstrate and
integrate their work in the Harvard
community.
- To extend the ideas and values of
educated and innovative women in technology beyond the
walls of Harvard.
- To join as educators to act as
role-models for girls and women in the community and to
influence society at large.
- To network and establish
relationships among women who have both similar and
different backgrounds and experiences.
WiT engages in various
activities, such as:
- Presentations,
speakers

secure resource for WiT members and alumni)

community

- How does WiT generate
interest?
Technology is a fleeting yet continuously emerging field
and there are always new and interesting experiences to
be gained from other women (and men) who are involved
some aspect of it. By joining WiT, one can both give and
receive valuable experiences from a community of learners
in technology.
- What kind of time commitment
is required of a WiT member? WiT does not "require"
any time commitment per se. However, in order to be an
active participant, you should communicate with WiT in
some form or another (i.e., email, attending meetings,
holding position).
- What are the benefits of
joining WiT?
WiT will provide a place to share ideas, make good
friends, network, learn, get inspired, create, present,
organize, eat, fundraise, laugh, talk, collaborate,
express, debate, intellectualize, socialize, write,
design, research, teach, integrate, and experience
something completely new!
- Does it cost to join
WiT?
No. Currently, there are no dues to join WiT. WiT relies
solely on the support of the community through
fundraising events as well as a nominal allowance from
the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at HUGSE.
