Adva Steiner After tutoring for seven years, Adva concluded that through the context of teaching, she could meet people and understand them in a unique way. She decided to become a teacher “because I believe that education is the root of power and I wanted to help students empower themselves to improve their world. I also think that learning is fun, and I want to share this with the students.”

INSIDE SCOOP: “I am truly amazed at the amount of camaraderie and support that everyone in the TAC program has for each other. Not to sound corny but the TAC program is like a family or small community of friends. I know that I can go to any other intern or administrator in this program if I need anything or even if I don't and I just want to talk.”

“You have so many resources here and there is so much to learn that Harvard becomes a school to be proud of for its merits instead of a school to be proud of for its name.”

“Teaching is HARD; it is emotional and dramatic, intellectually challenging and rewarding. The best way to learn anything is by teaching it to someone else. One of the most vulnerable experiences you can have is standing up in front of a classroom of teenagers trying to teach them something. It is a wonderful and terrifying sensation.”
