Student Support Services

The Office of Student Affairs is the primary resource for student support services at HGSE. Listed below are other services that students might find helpful:

Academic Support

Physical Health and Well-Being

Counseling and Psychological Services

  • Harvard University Health Services (Mental Health Clinicians)
  • Bureau of Study Counsel
  • Life Raft -- A resource for those facing life-threatening ilness or death, whether for themselves, members of their families, or friends. Meetings are held on Mondays from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the conference room of Memorial Hall Basement. For information, call the Mental Health Service at 495-2042.
  • In Common - Phone: 384-TALK (Sunday-Thursday, excluding Harvard holidays). A confidential peer support and referral line supervised by the Bureau of Study Counsel and University Health Services.
  • RESPONSE - Phone: 495-9600 (8:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. every night). Drop-in: Lowell House Basement, E-013, 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. every night). Offers confidential counseling from women peer counselors on issues of rape, incest, abusive or difficult relationships, and harassment.
  • United Ministry - The University's interfaith coalition of chaplains, located on the ground floor of Memorial Church (495-5529) offers worship events as well as confidential pastoral counseling.
