The Study of New Scholars, building on the success of its pilot initiatives, has secured additional funding from the Ford Foundation to administer the Tenure-Track Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey nationwide. This effort will unfold in multiple annual cycles, beginning in 2005 and continuing for, we hope, many years.

New Survey for 2005

Building on the lessons of our pilot study, researchers at the Study of New Scholars have refined our survey instrument, the Tenure-Track Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey©. Two versions of this survey are available for download in PDF format:
> University Version - 2005
> College Version - 2005
2005 Invitation

At this phase of national rollout, the Study of New Scholars invites accredited, 4-year colleges and universities to participate in an updated survey to be administered in the fourth quarter of 2005 and every three years thereafter. If your institution wishes to participate, you can further help this collaborative of colleges and universities by spreading the word to your peer institutions. By working together in this manner, colleges and universities can ensure comparative (anonymous) data that is both accurate and relevant to each. For more information on this opportunity, please contact the Study of New Scholars at (617) 496-9348 or newscholars@gse.harvard.edu.

2006 and beyond

Additional institutions will be invited to participate in later administrations of the Tenure-Track Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey. If your institution wishes to be considered for enrollment at a future date, contact the Study of New Scholars at (617) 496-9348 or newscholars@gse.harvard.edu.
