About The Special Issue on Popular Culture and Education

The Fall 2003 issue of the Harvard Educational Review addresses the connection between popular culture and education, focusing in particular on how this connection resides in the public sphere. The aim of this issue is to introduce the study of popular culture in education to new audiences, and to challenge the frameworks and approaches to this crucial subject. The authors in this issue discuss a wide range of topics and perspectives, reflecting diverse methodologies. With this Special Issue, HER hopes to foster a dialogue among producers, consumers, and researchers of popular culture that will underscore its importance to education.
