To view the videos, you will need a broadband internet connection, and the RealPlayer or Windows Media player plug-ins. Also, be sure to have your computer sound enabled.

Reception Area and Information Kiosk

This video shows the reception area, and an information kiosk on a bridge over the river. Initially, students arrive in the large reception area. Team organization and dialogue about their journeys takes place in this neutral area.

The 'Project View' function

This video demonstrates the 'project view' function. This function allows any student to project a snapshot of his or her current view to any other student.

Teleporting and chatting

This video demonstrates the 'teleport' and 'chat'' functions. The teleport function allows any student to instantly relocate to the position of any other student in River City. The chat function allows students to communicate with each other through instant text messaging.

The River City Hospital

This video shows the hospital. A large number of River City residents are ill. Students can explore the hospital to discover why.

River City University

This video shows River City University. The university houses historical photographs showing students working in the laboratory and well known scientists such as Ellen Swallow Richards.
