Brent Wilson
Brent Wilson is Professor and Head of Art Education at Penn State University. He is the author of The Quiet Evolution: Changing the Face of Arts Education (1997) and the well-known monograph Toward Civilization (1987), a report to the President and Congress on the status of arts education in the United States.

Urban Gateways: From the Classroom to the Boardroom to the White House
Libby Lai-Bun Chiu
Libby Lai-Bun Chiu is Executive Director of Urban Gateways: The Center for Arts Education in Chicago. She was Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the Boston Conservatory, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Chair of the Pro-Arts Task Force of Boston Arts Colleges that founded the Boston Arts Academy. Ms. Chiu has been a school principal and teacher, a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, and a member of the National Committee for Standards in the Arts.

Bill Strickland
Social entrepreneur, arts and vocation educational leader, Bill Strickland is CEO of the Bidwell Training Center and Executive Director of the nationally and internationally recognized community art center, the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (which he founded) in Pittsburgh, PA. Strickland has served on the board of the National Endowment for the Arts and has been recognized as a MacArthur Fellow.

Edmund Barry Gaither
Director and curator of the Museum of the National Center for Afro-American Artists, Edmund Barry Gaither is a well known art historian, lecturer, consultant and writer. Gaither co-founded the Association of African American Museums (AAAM) and has served as a panel chairman for the National Endowment for the Arts and on President Bush's Advisory Board on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

James Catterall
James Catterall is Professor of Education at UCLA in the areas of Curriculum, Teaching, Leadership, and Policy Studies. His research interests are in the arts and human development. The author of numerous publications, Catterall contributed his findings on a positive link between arts learning and achievement in other areas in the 1999 President's Committee on Arts and Humanities' report: Champions of Change: The Impact of the Arts on Learning.
