Nominations are in

Every other year, alumni of the Harvard Graduate School of Education are asked to nominate classmates and colleagues to serve on the Alumni Council. Council members work to strengthen the relationship between HGSE and its alumni, support and help develop events that provide alumni the opportunity to foster personal and professional relationships with HGSE, serve as both representatives of the larger alumni body and as sources of information for the Development and Alumni Relations offi ce, and work with various administrative offi ces at HGSE on special projects. Now is your chance to vote for your classmates and colleagues! To access the online ballot, visit http://www.gse.harvard.edu/alumni_friends/index.html.

Alumni Council Award Winner

Each year, the Alumni Council selects one HGSE alumna/us to honor with the Alumni Council Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education. In order to recognize the significance of service to education by the many alumni of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Council created the annual recognition award to provide tribute to such service. The Alumni Council is proud to recognize John Merrow, Ed.D.'73 as this year's award recipient. Merrow is president of Learning Matters, the nonprofit organization he founded in 1995, which produces The Merrow Report, a series of one-hour documentaries for PBS and a radio program on NPR. The award was presented in Cambridge at the precommencement ceremony on Wednesday, June 7. And please visit http://www.gse.harvard.edu/alumni_friends/index.html for more information about Merrow and the award.
