HGSE Campus

An aerial view of the HGSE campus in the late 1960s, prior to the construction of the Monroe C. Gutman Library.

But where did they keep the books?

Longfellow Hall housed a small working collection, and the main collections supporting the study of education were in Widener
Library, as well as at other campus locations. With the opening of Gutman Library in 1972, many of Harvard's enormous resources
in education, developed continuously since the 17th century, were given a home as an integral part of the School.
