News Haste Receives Kuhmerker Career Award Posted November 28, 2011 By News editor Visiting Professor Helen Haste recently received the Kuhmerker Career Award from the Association for Moral Education.“I feel very honored to receive this award,” Haste said. “Moral development and civic engagement of young people have been dominant themes of my work for many years and I was very moved to have the recognition from the community of researchers in those fields.”The Kuhmerker Career Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding, long-term contributions to both the AME, in particular, and to the field of moral development.Haste is a British psychologist with research interests in the development of moral, social, and political values and citizenship; the role of metaphor in cognition, dialogue, and culture; and the relationship between science and society, particularly media and cultural images of science.Professor Robert Selman was the recipient of last year’s Kuhmerker Career Award.
