Faculty Members Represent HGSE at AERA Annual Meeting

Members of the Harvard Graduate School of Education community participated in and were honored at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) held from April 30 to May 4 in Denver.

Professor Daniel Koretz was one of 67 scholars named a 2010 AERA fellow in recognition of exceptional scientific or scholarly contributions to education research or the field. The fellows are nominated by peers, selected and recommended by the Fellows Program Committee, and approved by the elected council governing AERA. The association expects fellows to be visibly engaged in important AERA programs and activities and to serve as models and mentors for the next generation of scholars.

Additionally, more than 100 presentations featured the work of several members of the HGSE community, including Professor Richard Elmore's "Building Knowledge and Supports for Improving School Coherence" which was featured in the Presidential symposium, "Use-inspired Research and Development: Solving Middle School Challenges in the SERP-Boston Field Site." Also, Professor Mark Warren and Lecturer Karen Mapp, along with several doctoral students, presented the research of the Community Organizing School Reform Project to a jam-packed Presidential Session.
