Occurring moments after the launch of Lady Gaga’s Born this Way Foundation, Oprah Winfrey sat down for 15 minutes with the Harvard EdCast. A media icon, philanthropist, and school founder, Winfrey reflected on helping Lady Gaga launch the Born This Way Foundation and shared how this celebrity group formed. Speaking about bullying, she also discussed her school in South Africa and the many joys that the students bring to her life. Inspired by Winfrey’s spirit of generosity, the Harvard EdCast arranged for a special gift to be discovered under her chair as the interview concluded.

Fabulous EdCast, Matt!! I love that she checked you on your claim that “some” (rather than “all”) people buy books she recommends, but then that you totally surprised her with the gift under her chair. A really terrific set of questions and answers.
