Everyone should be free to be who they are. Everyone deserves respect, encouragement, love, support, and realistic hope that who they happen to be will not prevent them from achievement of any goals. Please try to accept yourself and others as gifts far to complex to be understood at times, but always part of universal joy.

I love that GSE recognizes the importance of projects like It Gets Better and offers us the opportunity to take part in these projects. It’s what makes GSE such a great community and it’s why I feel very fortunate to work here. I’m sorry I missed my opportunity to participate :(

One of my favorite quotes goes something like… “When you judge another you don’t define them you define yourself”. It’s something we should always keep in mind when we are being judged or if we are judging others.

Thank you HGSE. When DC changed their law and our Methodist Church changed its policy, Sally and I were married after 20 years together. We are living testimony to the fact that it gets better.
