Public School Reports (Educ R classification)

This collection comprises about 10,000 items documenting public education in the United States from its beginnings in the early 1800s through the mid-20th century. It includes comprehensive sets of annual reports of state and local boards of education from 48 states and thousands of municipalities; also directories, rules and regulations, curricula and other publications from state, city/town and rural school departments and even from some individual public schools. These records contain detailed narrative reports on schools and school districts; statistical and financial information, courses of study, lists of textbooks used, and minutes of meetings of local school committees and other education authorities.

This collection is not cataloged in the HOLLIS Catalog, but in-house shelflists and guides are available.
