Private School Catalogs (Educ R classification)

This collection of about 7,000 items includes long runs of prospectuses, catalogs, bulletins and registers from individual private schools in America; also yearbooks, student literary magazines, and alumni publications, documenting private education from the 1830s to the 1960s. Early or founding prospectuses are held for many schools. A particular strength is the presence of many early documents from "female academies" and seminaries for women.

This collection is not cataloged in the HOLLIS Catalog, but in-house shelflists and guides can be consulted.
