Maria (Fatouros) Pantazis

Maria (Fatouros) Pantazis is one of 10 fellows in the Harvard University Management Fellowship Program. Working for the Office of Research and Analysis at Harvard College, Maria is developing a web-based Harvard College Fact Book – a publication of relevant facts, figures, and statistics regarding enrollment and registration that will serve as an essential resource for deans, faculty, and other stakeholders within Harvard College. Maria is involved in identifying the content of the Fact Book and in systematizing the procedures to generate the data. This online publication will be used to proactively respond to the needs of the administration, rather than requiring the stakeholders to request the data. Maria feels well prepared for this challenge due to her Higher Ed coursework. She understands the importance of student data and what tools are necessary for administrators to shape policy and meet the mission of the school. Maria has worked for 15 years in various industries, for employers such as SAP, Textron Systems and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and has focused on computer information systems and software development. Prior to HGSE she was employed at the Harvard Graduate School of Design as the database administrator working with the registrar to address the needs of the department’s Student Information System. The combination of her technology background and Higher Ed degree has given Maria a unique ability to address the technical and administrative challenges of her current Fellowship and anticipate the future needs of the higher education community. “Following a career solving technical deficiencies in information systems, my coursework has given me both a comprehensive picture of the higher education landscape and the ability to identify and address issues from an organizational and administrative perspective.”
