Lad Dell

Lad L. Dell is the executive director of College Is For U, Inc. (CIFU), a Los Angeles–based nonprofit organization he founded that works with underserved youth and assists them in gaining access to higher education. His first foray into the field of education was at the admissions office at his alma mater, Tufts University. He then joined the Relationship With Schools office at University of California–Riverside (UCR). It was while at UCR that he was introduced firsthand to issues of college access. He then enrolled at HGSE which allowed him to delve deeper into issues of access and to meet others as passionate as he was.

He credits particularly professors Judy McLaughlin and Bridget Terry Long (a board member of CIFU) for their expertise, concern and sustained support throughout the program. Lad resigned his previous position of associate dean of admission of Occidental College to establish College Is For U, Inc.
