Diana Leyva earned her doctorate in Developmental Psychology at Clark University where, during her studies, she taught courses in cognitive development, child development, and quantitative methods. At the Department of Psychology in Williams College she was a visiting lecturer and taught a course on processes of teaching and learning. After completing her doctorate, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Education at Mount Holyoke College. She taught courses on educational psychology, child development, cognitive development and a seminar on early literacy. Leyva’s current research investigates the role of adult-child language interactions in the development of children’s emergent writing and other literacy abilities.
