Joseph P. Zolner is Director of the Harvard Institutes for Higher Education (HIHE). As HIHE Director, he is responsible for the quality, relevance, and variety of professional development programs offered by the Harvard Graduate School of Education for the higher education community. He also serves as Educational Chair of the Management Development Program (MDP), Educational Chair of the Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians, and Educational Co-Chair of the Institute for Educational Management (IEM). Previously, Zolner served as Director of the Graduate Management Institute at Union College (NY) and Director of the Graduate School of Business Administration at Northeastern University (MA). He has also held appointments as Assistant Dean of the College at Dartmouth College (NH) and Assistant Dean of Students and Assistant Director of Admissions at Union College. Zolner also worked for Goodmeasure, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the management of strategic organizational change, serving a Fortune 100 client base. He received an Ed.D. in higher education and an Ed.M. in administration, planning, and social policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, an M.P.P.M. from the Yale School of Management, and a B.S. from Union College. His interests include leadership and the higher education curriculum change process.
