Profile

Ross Gittell is the chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire. Gittell's career has been in higher education administration, research, and teaching with a focus on advancing economic opportunity and economic competitiveness. His areas of specialization include higher education leadership, community and state economic development, and workforce education and training. Prior to becoming Chancellor in February of 2012, Gittell was James R. Carter Professor at the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business and Economics and also taught at the New School of Social Research and Harvard. Gittell received an A.B in Economics from the University of Chicago, an M.B.A. from University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
