Profile

Noel Reyes is a history teacher. Since 2007, he has worked at the middle and high school level in the Boston Public Schools. Driven by the belief that a high quality education is the right of every child, Reyes works to create a classroom space where students move beyond historical facts to develop their own understandings of what constitutes a just society, debate how governments can and should promote fairness, explore the impact of personal choices in the midst of moral dilemmas, apply historical knowledge to enhance understandings of current events, and consider what is at stake in how society collectively remembers the past. Reyes is a graduate of the Boston Teacher Residency Program, and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from Brown University. He received his M.Ed. from University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2007.
