Julian A. McNeil is the mathematics program director at Boston Latin Academy. In addition to this role, McNeil works in concert with the Boston Public Schools' Office of Human Capital to design, launch and lead programs that help increase and maintain the diversity of its teaching force. Outside of the district, McNeil mentors students in the Harvard Undergraduate Teacher Education Program and teaches a popular course called “The Mathematics of Social Justice” at the Cambridge-Harvard Summer Academy. McNeil began his career teaching mathematics in the City of Philadelphia. As a classroom teacher, he earned National Board Certification and won competitive fellowships through Math for America, Focus on Math, Teach Plus, and World Teach. McNeil holds an M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Mathematics from Hampton University.
