Professor Fernando Reimers was recently elected an overseer to the Boston Museum of Science. His term began on July 1.

"Competency and interest in science and technology are critical components of 21st century citizenship as they enable participation and understanding of ordinary citizens in many issues of public interest," Reimers said. "The Boston Museum of Science is a leading national institution in expanding opportunities to develop those competencies to a broad segment of the population. I look forward to serving on the museum's board and on the program's committee with enthusiasm."

The Museum of Science overseers are community leaders and friends with a special interest in science, technology, and education who support the museum's mission. As an overseer, Reimers will be actively involved in the museum, dedicating time and expertise, supporting fundraising opportunities, and working closely with staff on educational programming.

"We are delighted that Dr. Reimers joins us as a museum overseer. His long-term commitment to the museum and its mission, his innovative approach to bridging education policy and scientific research, and his grasp of the importance of democratic citizenship skills and instructional improvement across nations will make him an invaluable member of the museum's leadership during this exciting time," said Ioannis Miaoulis, museum president.

I was classmate of Fernando years back and am very happy for his latest recognition/election. He is among the very right people to serve on this board. I share his view on the importance of science and technology. Congratulations, Fernando! Hope to get connected with you and Elenora. Ping
