Fellowships requiring application through the HGSE Financial Aid Office's Fellowship Area

Fulbright Student Programs

International applicants should see the IIE/Fulbright website for information on availability of grants, deadlines, and eligibility requirements specific to their home countries. Students' home country Fulbright Commissions will provide assistance with the application process, as will the resident U.S. embassy.

Harvard University Traveling Fellowships

HGSE students must apply through the Fellowship Office. Awards are made primarily to U.S. citizens. An interview with the faculty review committee may be required after the application has been submitted. Applicants must be currently enrolled, and have completed a full year in a graduate degree program at Harvard at the time of application. Application forms become available in the Fellowship and Financial Aid Offices in fall.

Harvard-China Fellowships

Scholarship opportunities for one year of study or research at selected universities in the People's Republic of China during academic year 2008/2009. Applications must be submitted directly to the Committee on General Scholarships at Harvard University.
HGSE deadline: December 7, 2007

Sinclair Kennedy Traveling Fellowships

One academic year abroad.
HGSE deadline: February 1, 2008

Frank Knox Memorial Traveling Fellowships

One academic year in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the U.K.
HGSE deadline: February 1, 2008

Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowships

One academic year abroad or in the U.S. (This fellowship may not be used at Harvard University).
HGSE deadline: February 1, 2008

Action For Children's Television Fellowship (ACT)

Up to two one-year fellowships of approximately $3,000 are available to support HGSE advanced doctoral research on issues related to children and the media.
