FacultyWhat is the faculty to student ratio at HGSE?HGSE offers over 200 courses, which span from small to large enrollments, and allow students to gain both breadth and depth in a variety of topics. The majority of HGSE courses enroll 20 or fewer students, though HGSE has excellent courses that are larger in size. Many of our programs have highly flexible curricula, so students can exercise quite a bit of control over which courses they take. If class size is a critical factor, students can select courses with smaller enrollments. Unlike many large research universities, classes at HGSE are taught by faculty - not Teaching Fellows. Likewise, faculty accessibility is high. Each Ed.D., Ed.L.D., and Ed.M. candidate is matched with a faculty advisor, and can also meet with any other faculty member during office hours or at other times. Where can I find information on each faculty's research interests?HGSE faculty members are heavily engaged in various research centers, projects, and initiatives. We encourage you to view a list of current faculty publications, compiled semiannually by the Gutman Library. HGSE is committed to connecting the research of its faculty to educators in the field through its Usable Knowledge website. Please explore the site for text, video, and audio materials that connect research and practice to leaders in education. |
