Connect with HGSE

The Admissions Office offers many ways for you to become familiar with the Harvard Graduate School of Education, its academic programs, student life, community, and admissions and financial aid requirements.

One of the best methods for gathering information is to make a personal visit, either to our campus or to one of the many events we host.

Ongoing Opportunities

Our Small Group Sessions are informal, hour-long events during the week for groups of 10 people or fewer.

One-on-One Appointments with an Admissions representative are 30-minute meetings available to those who want to discuss specific needs, interests, and questions. 

Our Admissions Ambassador Programs provide opportunities for prospective students to connect with current students and alumni to hear their perspectives. To connect with an alumni admissions ambassador, please email gseadmissions@harvard.edu and include any relevant details (e.g., degree level, program of interest, geography preference). Our student admissions ambassador program will be available soon.

Class Observations are a great way to get a feel for what it would be like to be a student at HGSE.  If you are going to be visiting campus, we encourage you to consider taking advantage of this opportunity.

On-Campus Events

Open Houses serve as an excellent introduction to HGSE and opportunities within and beyond our degree programs.  Faculty members, administrators, alumni, and current students are in attendance to provide, both formally and informally, information on academic programs, career planning, admissions, and financial aid.

This fall we will also be offering three Saturday Information Sessions, one per month September through November.  These morning sessions last approximately 1.5 hours and combine admissions, career, and financial aid presentations with an opportunity to hear from current students and/or alumni.

Our Diversity Recruitment Program takes place over a 2-day period and is yet another opportunity for prospective students to connect with members of the HGSE community and learn more about our programs and the school. 

Off-Campus Events

HGSE representatives are traveling throughout North America this fall to connect with you through Information Sessions, Graduate Fairs, and One-on-One Appointments. The range of neighborhoods and further event details are available on our schedule.

International Events

For those who are living or studying overseas, we offer some international recruitment events, which provide an opportunity for you to learn more about HGSE through a combination of a local reception and a virtual information meeting. Hosted by an HGSE alum, prospective students gather together at a local venue while Admissions representatives, faculty, alumni, and/or students engage with you through web conference software.

Virtual Events

Our Virtual Information Sessions provide prospective students an opportunity to learn about HGSE and its programs without having to leave their homes or offices. Through web conference software, you can engage with program faculty, alumni, and/or students by viewing a presentation, listening to their perspectives on the program, curriculum, and the advantages of being at HGSE, and asking questions.

All Admissions Events are free and open to the public.
