Brighton High School is divided into three small learning communities. The small learning communities focus on math, science, social studies, and language arts. Teachers in each SLC meet in Common Planning Time to discuss instructional strategies, curriculum issues, and student concerns. Each BHS student in grade 10-12 also belongs to a college and career pathway as well as a small learning community. Career pathways offer a sequenced three-year program of courses that introduce students to career information and experiences in the following industry clusters: Health Professions, Law and Government, Education, Business and Technology, and Media, Arts, and Communications.

There are 81 full time teachers and 28 support staff – administrators, counselors, etc. assigned to the school. Teachers, guidance counselors, and disciplinarians are assigned to specific small learning communities and work primarily with the students in these communities.
