IEP Brings Girl Rising to HGSE for International Women’s Day
In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2013, the International Education Policy Program co-sponsored the screening of Girl Rising for the Harvard community in Askwith Hall. The film was introduced by Dean Kathleen McCartney and was followed by a panel discussion featuring Professor Sarah Dryden-Peterson, Professor Fernando Reimers, and Vanessa Beary, HGSE doctoral candidate. The feature documentary tells the story of nine girls through the lens of education as a means of empowerment, security, and economic mobility.

IEP Students Take Classroom Theory to the Ground With Study Treks
In the 2012-2013 academic year, two groups of IEP Students conceived of, designed, and executed educational trips abroad in order to deepen their classroom learning with experiences on the ground. Learn about their progress, plans, and projects at their teams’ websites.

In December 2011, Ana Gabriel Pessoa ’07 gave a talk, on "Small Revolutions in Becoming an Entrepreneur," during which she discussed entrepreneurship and her organization, EZLearn Educational, which uses web technology to deliver low cost education services.
