Education Policy & ManagementAlumni & CareersWhere Are They Now?EPM Alumni ProfilesAlumna Elizabeth González, Ed.M.'02 Elizabeth González is the education outreach specialist at NASA Headquarters' Office of Biological and Physical Research. She was offered this position through the Presidential Management Internship Program. Elizabeth works to bring space research to all learning audiences in both formal and informal settings in the hope of inspiring and motivating the next generation of explorers. She is currently working specifically with non-traditional learners including Latino teachers and students and the homeschool community. "My time in the APSP (now EPM) Program allowed me to gain a more thorough understanding of the needs of underserved children and prepared me for a position as a program manager so I could really make some changes." Alumna Bonnie Gordon, Ed.M.'02 Bonnie Gordon is a program officer with the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, with responsibility for the foundation's College Prep initiative, which seeks to improve post-secondary access, persistence, and degree completion for underserved youth throughout New England. She began her work at NMEF following a 20-year career in higher education administration and consulting. "The Ed.M. program at HGSE helped me make the exact career transition I was looking for," Bonnie says. "I worked with outstanding faculty and staff on current education issues and had a chance to meet so many terrific people. The academic work, along with new contacts, led directly to new job opportunities. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience." |
