This course is an introduction to theories and findings in the psychology of early childhood, roughly the period from 18 months to 6 years. The course will cover attachment; pretense and imagination; theory of mind/autism; moral development; memory development; emotion and understanding emotion; vocabulary growth; cross-cultural variation; brain development; learning through dialogue; and children’s religious concepts.
