Using the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) at HGSE

The Harvard Graduate School of Education allows both degree and non-degree students to pay for their HGSE tuition by using the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The timing of the submission of TAP forms depends on whether one is a degree (admitted into the degree Ed.M., Ed.D. or C.A.S. program) or non-degree student.

For more information on Harvard-wide TAP policies, please visit Harvie and download "The TAP Booklet" under Working at Harvard.

Degree Candidates

Financial Clearance

TAP forms with Sections I and II completed are used as a means of demonstrating the student's eligibility for TAP benefits. Prior to Registration Check-In Day, students should fax or bring to the Office of the Registrar their TAP forms with Section I completed and with all appropriate signatures in Section II. A photocopy of the form will be made for Office of the Registrar records, and the original TAP form will be handed back to the student. The fax or photocopy of one such completed TAP form will be used to waive the equivalent amount of tuition for one four-credit course ($4,276.00 in 2009-2010); two forms will be used to waive the equivalent amount of tuition for two four-credit courses ($8,552.00 in 2009-2010). Any additional tuition or fees not covered by TAP must be paid by the student prior to registration.

Submission of Completed TAP Forms

Completed TAP forms with the instructors' signatures as well as a check for the TAP fee (made out to Harvard University) should be submitted along with the Course Enrollment form on or before Course Enrollment Day.
